Introduction
This policy explains what information CarGate collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the mobile app and our web portals.
Information We Collect
Account data: your phone number, name, city, and profile photo. Listing data: vehicle details, photos, videos, and price. Activity data: searches, favorites, follows, views, and chat messages. Device data: device model, app version, language, and push notification tokens.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to operate the marketplace: authenticate you, publish your listings, deliver chats and notifications, personalize your feed, measure performance, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
Payments
If you buy an optional paid listing plan, payment is handled by our payment provider, Wayl (thewayl.com). You enter your card or wallet details on Wayl's secure checkout — they are never seen or stored by CarGate. For our records we keep only the transaction reference, amount, currency, plan, and payment status. Wayl processes the payment through the method you choose (card, ZainCash, FIB, FastPay, and other supported methods) under its own privacy policy. The free Basic plan requires no payment, and any purchase of a car itself happens directly between buyer and seller, outside the app.
What Other Users See
Your public profile (name, photo, city), your published listings and stories, and your messages to the people you chat with. Your phone number is only revealed when you choose to share it or place it in a listing.
Sharing With Service Providers
We share data with trusted providers that host our infrastructure — cloud database, media storage, live video, SMS verification, push notifications, and payment processing (Wayl, for paid listing plans) — strictly to run the service. Photos you add to a listing are also processed by an automated image-recognition provider to detect and blur license plates before the photo is published. We never sell your personal data to anyone.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and access to production systems is restricted. No system is 100% secure, so please also protect your own credentials.
Retention and Deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your Rights
You can edit your profile at any time, control push notifications from Settings, and request a copy or deletion of your data through the Support Center.
Children
CarGate is not directed at anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has created an account, we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will notify you of significant changes in the app; the “Last updated” date always reflects the current version.
